I love this book. It is so in line with my own parenting philosophy, but really helped me to organize my thoughts. It also gave me a lot of strategies for day-to-day with a baby. I credit this book and the encouragement and advice in it with my daughter's great sleeping habits.

This book is full of good advice for a Type A person like myself. It stresses the importance of FLEXIBLE scheduling, which allows the parents to have a life outside of their baby. My fingers are crossed that the ideas in this book work and that our baby will be sleeping through the night in no time. :)

A friend gave me this book soon after I had my son. The most helpful concepts that I found in the book were to pay attention to what times baby is generally hungry so that you can try to make his day more predictable, try to get baby to eat full feedings (basically keep eating even when he starts to get sleepy mid-feeding), and try to keep baby awake for a while after day-time feedings. That said I strongly disagree with this book on a few points, like its assertion that it is okay, and even healthy, to leave an infant crying for 30 minutes or longer. Also, some of the safety information was extremely outdated. In all, I liked some of the concepts but disagreed with a lot of what it said too.

Was recommended to me by my unborn son's peditrician and also by a friend of mine that used it for her son. It worked for her, but as my son isn't here yet, not sure if it'll work for me. But I'm hopeful. Babywise is simply a method for getting your infant on a schedule.

hard to really say what i think about all this - seeing as how i haven't actually had a baby yet.

I think this has some general strategies and ideas, but realistically you have to be flexible to what works for your family and your baby.

I can't comment on the advice that this book gives (no baby yet), but the writing is atrocious.

"If wishes and dreams were lollipops and bright lights, then every day would be bliss."

Eesh.

The early chapters feel limited to traditional mother-father families, but I thought this was really helpful in getting into the right mindset. I quickly suggested my husband also read it so that we could be on the same page with the baby’s schedule, etc.
informative fast-paced

I LOVE this book. It is short, easy to read. Gives example schedules which for me was SO comforting and SO clutch. It is also evidence based and gives citations, and in fact, cites to the very sleep book bible that I recommend in this list. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
