Name: yesterday I was the moon
Author: Noor Unnahar
Genre: Poetry, Love, Self healing
Review
A beautiful collection of poetry and prose in which the poetess discovers life, love, heartbreak, loss, hope and healing. A personal lyrical antidote which will keep us going.
The poems are empowering and somehow so relatable. I especially love the part where the poetess describes how she got her name, Noor. I found the poems have vibes similar to Rupi Kaur and Amanda Lovelace, or a mixture of both. Her poetries are short, deep and has profound effect on the readers.
The verses are beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, which will keep us hooked to this series of poetries till the very end.

Este es otro poemario que encontré por ahí. Miren cuántas lecturas variadas que estoy probando este año xD. Realmente disfruté este libro. Fueron poemas muy hermosos, inspiradores y fuidos. ¡Me encantaron! No me parece que sea una obra maestra ni se los voy a estar recomendando seguido, pero fue algo muy bueno para leer.

Noor Unnahar's yesterday i was the moon is a perfect balance of poetry that is both personal and observational. She not only writes fervently about her experiences with love and loss with herself and with others, but also mentions her culture, home, and even gives creative advice to her readers. As a Muslim woman, I felt comfort as I was reading Unnahar's poetry on her experience with Islam; it left a grin on my face after reading them. Unnahar also includes art pieces that are synonymous to the ones she has on her Instagram page, @noor_unnahar. Unnahar's novel continues to inspire young readers, including me, to find our voice and share it through our means of creativity.

“i am putting together
a future for me
that gleams with the lights
of cities i haven’t seen
that exhibits the art
my hands tremble to create
that looks like everything
i haven’t written poetry about
{future}”
