The reviews and comments I read indicated that the first half of the book was excellent, and the second half was a little...odd. I didn't feel they were wrong, but perhaps this knowledge managed my expectations enough to keep from being too turned off by some of the less than perfect plot choices. It's called "Fairy Tale" and it's by Stephen King, and that's exactly what you get.

I love, love, loved the first third of this book. Once the main character falls down the rabbit hole so-to-speak, I felt like I was reading The Hunger Games (which is compelling and at the same time too over-the-top in its sensational and disgusting plot). I stuck it out, but I felt used by the end. Still, if I don't like a book, I don't finish it, so I guess this is really more like a three and half stars for me.
This book was good! But, at some points, I would zone out bc I was bored :/

I was hoping for more writing about the reunion between Charlie and Radar. The whole story was centered around her and I feel that after they were separated she was pushed to the side. I think paying homage to her and her influence on him becoming Price would have been a nice touch. All in all, I did really enjoy this story! The imagery, the Lovecraftian influences, and the badassery of the characters was what kept me reading.

This had me thrown in a loophole I had somehow stupidly gone into it thinking it was going to be a thriller but it was an actaully a fantasy and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I loved the whole aspect of different fairy tales being part of the plot and I have the biggest space in my heart for Radar I never pushed for a dog character as hard as I did her. I will say the beginning was very slow burn and it took me awhile to get into, I completely undestand why we need the few chapters in the beginning but about 1/3 the way through did it start to pick up. I really enjoyed Charlie's character and I'm glad he didn't turn into a character that got on your nerves. I have to say I've read two Stephen King books now but already I've learnt to never have favourite characters because I am sure they will end up dead and that they did in this story for me again, so for the future I will never have a favourite character again. I can't lie I really enjoyed the second world and the whole plot I generally wouldn't of minded a whole series about that world because one I was in I was completely hooked and honestly I never wanted to leave!
