I enjoyed this one. I wasn't sure if I would or not because Frankie can sometimes be over the top, but this one worked.

Frankie and Barrett are opposites but they work. While Barrett had some personal issues to deal with, I liked that there wasn't a lot of angst. They lacked some communication at times which was frustrating, but it wasn't to bad.

I'm glad they got their happy ending. I hope we see a little more of them in the next book.

Frankie is my favorite type of twink: Sass and Sparkle baby! From his painted nails to his contoured cheeks I adored him and his big mouth. I laughed so hard at the amount of times Frankie left Barrett with his mouth hanging open. Poor Barrett, he didn't stand a chance against hurricane Frankie. Although I enjoyed the first 2 books in the series, this one shot to the top spot. I must say however I am intrigued about Mason...

Loving this series so far and I have been looking forward to Frankie's outing as he has a big personality but has had a lot of stress in the recent past so a lot going on for him.
Meeting Barrett, owner of Copper Creek Brewery, gives Frankie something to focus on when he starts working for him and reading the two dance around each other is entertaining. Ech man has lived very different lives so far and to come together means changes for both of them. What I love is that we get to read from both POV's and understand their thoughts and feeling on each other and what they go through. In that regard I think it's a little harder for Barrett with this being his first m/m relationship. They have a lot of heat and work really well together.
We still get to have interactions with the previous couples in the series, friendships and support shine in such a small town as Sawyer's Ferry. Cate has written a wonderful environment for this story to take place in, both the town/environment itself that it beautifully described and the people that make up the community who are an amazing and eclectic group of people.
Highly recommend this book and series! Big fan of the emotion and story line that Cate gives her readers and look forward to her next work.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Copper Creek is my very first introduction to author Cate Ashwood and I enjoyed her writing very much. This is the third book in her Sawyer's Ferry series, but they can be read as standalones.

Frankie is at an all time low, jobless and soon to be homeless, and even though Alaska is the last place he wants to be that's where he finds himself. Two months in the middle of nowhere to plan his best friends wedding. A few days in, and he finds himself doing office work at the local brewery and his boss, Barrett, just happens to be just his type. Barrett's only ever been with women and his strong feelings for Frankie are messing with his head. Their connection is undeniable but there're many factors working against them so is it something worth fighting for when Frankie's two month stay comes to an end.

"there was something between us, some sort of chemical connection that pulled him to me just as intensely as I was drawn to him."

Frankie has a loud and proud personality and embraces who he is. He's a bit high maintenance and whiny, but he quickly grows on you as Barrett brings out his vulnerabilities. Barrett is his opposite with his lumberjack gruff and grumpy appearance. I understood Barretts confusion but my heart hurt for Frankie every time he ended up burned by Barretts reactions. But whenever they were alone together, and they felt free to ac on their feelings and desires they were perfect together. Barrett was sweet and thoughtful with thinking of things that Frankie would enjoy doing and the sexual chemistry was explosive.

"How was it possible that I wanted to simultaneously run as far as I could from him, and hold him down and kiss him until he couldn't breathe."

In the end, Copper Creek left me with a smile on my face and a few books to add to my to be read list. I can't wait to meet more of Cate Ashwood's fantastic characters!

"How is it possible that you're so goddamn beautiful." he murmured, leaning in to kiss my throat."

I suppose this could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading book one as that is not only where we meet Frankie, it’s Gage and Holden’s story and this book revolves primarily around Frankie planning their wedding.

Frankie and Barrett’s story is a sweet, low angst somewhat predictable read. I’ve been waiting for Frankie’s story since we met him…his snarky fabulousness drew me in from the beginning.

I love opposites attract but don’t always love stories with men in the closet…usually because someone gets hurt or treated badly. In this case, Barrett does not treat Frankie well when he doesn’t know how to handle his attraction to him.

I have a couple of grumbles with this one. One is other than the brief story about the past he shares with Frankie we don’t learn much about Barrett. The other is the ending felt rushed. Their time apart was longer than their time together, but all happened off-page.

Barrett’s big gesture was a little predictable but still swoon-worthy and I really liked the epilogue (although now I’m wondering if we’ll see more of these two).

Definitely another good one in this series!

I loved this installment. From the beginning it was shaping up to be as good as the first book and I was super happy. The last book wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be and I was a little cautious going into this one, worried it also wouldn't be so good.

But I needn't have worried, because Frankie and Barrett had great chemistry from the beginning, and I loved all their scenes together. I was wondering how Frankie's story was gonna go and how he would ever get to Sawyer's Ferry.

Frankie was the executive assistant of Holden's father, but it's been a year since he was arrested and Frankie lost his job, and things haven't been going great for him. Even tough he had nothing to do with the crimes of Holden's father, people were still very much reluctant to hire him. He's in a rut, but he's still maintaining he's not going to Buttfuck, Alaska - his words.

But Holden manages to convince Frankie to go out to Sawyer's Ferry to plan his and Gage's wedding, and given the fact that Frankie's cousin is asking him to leave the house, given she and her husband have a baby on the way, Frankie gives in an goes to Alaska.

He expects to absolutely hate it, but when he goes around town as he starts the planning for Holden and Gage's wedding, he stops by Copper Creek to ask about alcohol for the wedding, and runs into Barrett there - who he had met briefly at the bar a few days prior - and as they're trying to sort out a contract for the wedding, Frankie sees the sorry state of Barrett's office, because Barrett's previous admin had left 6 months prior, and so Frankie says he can do it and clean up the office and get everything in order, and so Barrett hires him temporarily.

It doesn't take long for the attraction to come to a boiling point, and in a very hot scene, Barrett gives in to Frankie, even though he freaks out immediately after.

Because Barrett has only been with women before Frankie, and although there has been passing attraction for men, he's never met any guy he actually wanted to have sex with. But Frankie is different, but Barrett still needs time to wrap his head around it.

I was so happy the sex was so good in this one, and the chemistry shined through. Frankie and Barrett was so passionate together, and eventually loving as well. Sex scenes for some authors can be a hit or miss - and unfortunately in the last book they were mainly a miss - but thankfully they were a hit in this book.

The small bit of drama at the end made sense, and I think the time apart was good for these two to realize how much they wanted each other and loved each other, and also for Frankie to be okay with not living in New York and actually living in Alaska. Better to be gone and realize what you really want then staying and coming to resent it because Frankie thinks his life would be better in New York. Better that he experienced life in New York without Barrett to realize that wasn't true.

Overall a very good book that I was super happy with. Can't wait for Beck and Brody's book next, I'm hoping it's really good too!

This is an excellent continuation to what has become a favourite series. I love the small town feel of Sawyers Ferry. The environment lends itself to the fish out of water trope and, even more so than the first book, this trope is in full effect here with Frankie, Holden's fab-u-lous friend from NY, arriving in Sawyers Ferry to organise Holden and Gage's wedding. Once there he meets Barrett, a closeted bisexual who has never acted on his attraction to men. The writing is solid and the plot follows a similar line to the previous books in the series, but that familiarity of plot is one of the things I love about these books. Also the characters are great, well rounded and flawed but likeable.
Highly recommended, along with all the other books in the series.

Book Three increases the gay population of time Sawyer’s Ferry

In book three Holden’s friend Frankie comes to Sawyer’s Ferry to plan Holden and Gage’s wedding and meets Barrett, owner of Copper Creek Brewing Co. There’s an instant attraction but Barrett is straight...or is he?

I’m generally not a fan of the GFY trope. I think it’s because in my head it undercuts the “it’s not a choice” argument. I guess it depends how the author writes it and if it comes across as believable the way the attraction and subsequent getting together happen.

Ashwood does a good job describing Barrett’s attraction and confusion so it doesn’t seem so out of left field. I love how Frankie knows who he is, good and bad, and owns it.

The ending is straight out of a rom-com and so sweet. It’s a fun read.

Utterly delightful romance sees Frankie get his Happy Ever After

I do like this series from Cate Ashwood, it's a nicely paced and well developed setting which feels like the kind of town you'd like to settle down in.

I've been wanting Frankie's romance since he first arrived in book one with his sass and attitude but he surprised me by being a lot less diva and a lot more really sweet guy.

Bennett was just my type, brooding but with a heart as big as the ocean and I loved how, after his initial quibble, he went all in with embracing his attraction to Frankie.

Great to see Holden and Gage again too, only a brief peek of Jackson and Logan sadly :(

This is a seriously fun, no dramady entertaining narrative that made me smile lots.

Loved the epilogue too.
