This one got me, I’m not even gonna lie 😭

Listening to this as an audiobook is what made this a 5 star for me. I love when each character has their own narrator & I love a mind blowing twist (even if it was easy to some I’m easy to fool lol)

There was one twist & I was like OMG? Then there was ANOTHER. And ANOTHER. I LOVE IT

Buckle up this is a long review! This was my first experience with Alice Feeney, and I was not disappointed in the least! I have to admit, the first 30% did feel like it dragged a bit, which is literally the only reason I gave it 4.5 stars. Feeney does an incredible job of constantly making you question who to trust and what to believe about the couple’s relationship. I went back and forth on who’s “team” I was on.

One of the things I appreciated most was how Feeney doesn’t just save all the surprises for the ending—she throws in smaller twists throughout the entire book. These little shifts in perspective and unexpected revelations kept me fully engaged, and every time I thought I had things figured out, she would throw me for a loop. I love that kind of storytelling! The twists didn’t feel forced—they felt earned and thought-out, making the payoff all the more satisfying.

Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! This is a brilliantly crafted psychological thriller with well-placed surprises and a masterful build-up. I’m already excited to explore more of Alice Feeney’s books (Beautiful Ugly is my BOTM!)
