This story felt a little far-fetched at times, realistically. If Aimee had really disappeared and Robin had suddenly reappeared in Adam’s life, I think it would have raised suspicions—someone surely would have reported her missing, especially if she had just stopped showing up to work. That was the main detail that bothered me by the end. However, I did enjoy the twist with the letters. At first, we believe they’re written by Aimee, but it turns out they were from Robin, Adam’s ex-wife. When that reveal came, I actually felt sorry for Robin. My feelings completely flipped—I went from liking Aimee and disliking Robin to the opposite. By the end, I just felt sorry for both of them.
I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a male character as much as Adam. He let down both Robin and Aimee, but maybe that was the point. In many ways, he feels like the true villain of the story. This is especially clear when it’s revealed that he was the one driving the car that killed his mother, not Aimee as we were led to believe. I loved the foreshadowing when Adam said it was his fault—it seemed like a casual line, since people often blame themselves, but in hindsight it was a clever clue. That twist really shocked me.
Overall, I’d give this book 3/5 stars. I enjoyed the plot, and it didn’t feel slow or dragged out at the beginning. It had a creepy atmosphere right from the start and kept me on edge, never quite knowing what to expect. For me, it worked well as a fun “in-between” read.

3.5 rounded down bc it wasn’t really explained why the husband knew the chapel so well? Also why did the wording on the gravestone change? Definitely gave me a couple of gasps but overall the timing of the twists just made me more confused
