2.5⭐️ This was way too long for what it was. So many chapters could have been edited out and the main plot points would remain the same. I found myself annoyed with the female main character and enjoyed the side characters more. I hope this is the last book in the spin off series.

This was really bittersweet for me. A Shadow in the Ember is one of my favorite books.
The first 40% was a bit too romance heavy. The last 60% was balanced perfection. I ended up giving it 5 stars because let’s be real - I’m a Nyktos stan and I rate on vibes.
