The prologue was incredible but the rest of the story was a major let down. Flat characters and 2D world building. I'm really sad, I was expecting so much more.

Don't have many thoughts about this book except it gives Shadow and Bone vibes because the lore is similar-ish (yes, I know that's not even a word but whatever).

Also, too many mentions of the engaged people being cousins. I know this gets "redeemed" in the end but I mean, the thought of them being related is still not cool at all.
