Though this book was good & creative with interesting characters, what took me out of the story so much that I could barely enjoy it was the frequency that the POVs were changed.
This is told in 2 different timelines, with very little that actually connected the two of them & warranted them being one story. So the fact that the chapters were fairly short & the POV changed for every chapter made it so hard to stay invested in either of the storylines.
This could have been so much better as 2 separate books or with the POV not being broken up as frequently.
Also, I felt as if the world building could have been more present, because we have 2 different timelines where the world didn’t appear to have any differences at all.

I really struggled to finish Furyborn, and ultimately, I couldn’t connect with it at all. The constant switching between two timelines felt more confusing than engaging. Instead of building suspense, it just disrupted the flow of the story. I also found the characters to be flat and unlikable—Rielle felt too perfect and predictable, while Eliana’s character just didn’t resonate with me. The romance in both storylines was forced and cringeworthy, which made it hard to stay invested. The world-building was also overwhelming with too many names, places, and concepts thrown in without enough explanation. It felt like the book was trying too hard to be complex and unique but ended up being exhausting and underwhelming. Definitely not a book I’d recommend.

So I have a lot of feelings, which I guess is what art is supposed to do... it's just that all my feelings are negative.
So many interesting ideas and yet, I was SO BORED. I felt like I was plunged into a very cool and maybe even unique world that after almost 500 pages I knew nothing about. Maybe I'm just a freak who is interested in info dumping...but I have had shorter books that dive so much deeper into the lore than this did.
What about the characters? Because they are so cool and such a good fighter and good at everything and so powerful. BORING. Give me a flaw besides SHE'S TOO STRONG.
And the seemingly out of nowhere insta love? Why is it inst love?! There were OVER 450 PAGES TO BUILD SOMETHING.
Nothing felt explained. So many cool things I wanted to know but didn't get to dive into. But it's also possible that I zoned out while reading and listening to the audio and didn't feel like rewinding or rereading to find out.
I did have some fun. But I am excited to be done. Not the feeling I usually like to have after reading a book. Very disappointed. I don't think I'm willing to read on and find out if there is more to intrigue me.

Fell in love with all the characters in this book. Loved the two perspectives of Rielle and Eliana and the challenges they faced throughout the story and finishing this book leaves you wanting to continue with the trilogy.
