2.5 rounded down to 2 stars. I didn't find the mystery as engaging as some of her others. The conversations surrounding family, which could have been really interesting, felt a bit like her personal beliefs, which I just don't agree with. One of the subplots in particular made the exploration of family (biological and adopted) seem less like the opinions/perspectives of the characters and more like her personal beliefs that she was emphasizing in the book. She really went for the incest romance sub-plot, huh. Personally, yikes. I get that she seems to not consider it incest since they aren't blood relatives, but for me personally, if you're raised together as siblings, it's incest.

This was my first Agatha Christie book. I have to say, I was impressed. I can’t compare to her other works, but this book was interesting and easy to digest, with a variety of interesting perspectives. The writing was simple, with just the right amount of twists and reveals to keep you a little unsure of yourself. The conclusion came very suddenly, like most simple writing. I’d recommend this book to anyone who enjoys pondering how people think or looking for a quick, enjoyable read.
