The sequel to Godkiller did NOT disappoint.

Heading back into the realms of God's, Veiga, and the political intrigue within the lands was invigorating. Learning how Kissen has been dwelling with God's, presumed dead. The distrust accumulating between Inara and her God of white lies; Skediceth, and the turmoil that Elogast faces as he learns of Arren's fate entwined with the Goddess of Fire. Truly a fantastical journey that propels our protagonists and antagonists along.

I adored learning more of the loving Telle and Yatho - Kissen's family - in this book and their generosity for Inara and Skedi. We are introduced further to the depth of their care and trust, something that has been shattered for Inara who quests to seek her true nature. Learning that both Kissen and her mother are alive; and she is the daughter of a God. Shocking!

There were twists and turns for Elogast as he led a rebellion against the demands of the Kingdom, fighting against his love for Arren and aiming to make Kissen proud of the commander he was becoming.

And amongst all of this we are introduced to numerous smaller God's and Goddesses along the way! A marvelous sequel...and what a stunning cover too!
