i can’t even believe that this is between my 5 stars reviews when i gave the first book 2 stars and vowed that i wouldn’t like the second one no matter how good it was. istg i can’t even understand how i managed to read this whole thing in a little over 5 hours… im so disappointed.

This is absolutely not for everyone but if you’re into taboo, dark romance, and murder kinks, this will satisfy an itch you didn’t know need scratching. The writing was elevated compared to the first book, but still fan fiction-esque giving ao3 roots vibes. This story is wild from beginning to end and the characters, though horrible disgusting human beings, really pull at your heart strings.

This book has explicit detailed descriptions of sex/human trafficking and rape. EXPLICIT. And frequent. It is very difficult to get through. The second half of the book makes up for it but please proceed carefully.

Beware the trigger warnings.
I kinda skimmed the warning page and I was surprised and a little knocked back when the warned things happened first. Incredibly dark, not shying away from the ruthless details to make a realistic story. Addie's struggles were easily felt when I read it, I found myself truly capturing her emotions the whole way through. When she felt weak, or hopeless, I did. When she was strong I felt strong too. It was an emotional, brutal book but I'm so glad I read it, it was something that made me look up at the world I am in.

The author doesn't shy away from the gory details, admirable but very triggering. Please read the warnings and don't partake if you're likely to be triggers. While the book is amazing, the story told is a terrible tragedy, detailed and explained.

i don’t even know what to say… this was dark, twisted and incredibly kinky. zade and addie's whole journey was just something so harrowing and yet so beautiful to watch

Had me in the first half ngl

After the 60% mark it just gets unhinged, story stops existing and it’s just pure sex - which is fine, but bro I was enjoying the story so much 

Spice is spicier than a ghost chilli, story was great until it wasn’t, pretty decent easy to binge book

i really liked this one better than the first book although it was way darker and extremely hard to read for me for about the first half when it was about addie's time at the grooming house. had to lay the book away for some time when reading and i got so frustrated from time to time that i set myself a deadline as when not to continue reading if she isn't rescued within the next few chapters. it just felt so dragged but i also wouldn't have found it plausible if she spent less time there, idk. my heart also broke when she was recovering - for her but for zade, too. but i absolutely loved how we got to know him and his sensitive side more and more in this book. i also liked how the plot unfolded a lot though i think the resolution with the whole claire thingy was a bit abrupt. i liked how we were introduced to sibby a lot more but I'm a bit confused and disappointed that

she just disappeared with this weird dude and they couldn't find her anymore. i would've loved to know what happened to her because she really grew on me. sigh.

anyways, although the book was really hard to read for all the abuse, i enjoyed it a lot and think it was amazing how the author handled addie's recovery and made it clear that it's okay and even necessary to seek out for help and showed us a safe space for survivors. the ending was also kind of what i expected and i'm happy it didn't turn out different. ayy, almost forgot one of the most important things: the spice was amazing!! (but dark, too). 
before starting to read this book, you definitely need to check the trigger warnings and proceed with caution. this one isn't an easy read and tackles a lot of triggering topics. if you're not in the mental state to read this book, please just let it be and stay safe.
