Eh. The book-book is better. But I don’t normally read graphic novels so ....

I just recently watched the movie based on this and wanted to read the book as it has been ages since I read it. The story is not the same but I really enjoyed it. This was first time reading the graphic novel for this story and it was well done. I might have to check out the rest of the series of them. It also makes me want to read the regular book to see how similar they are. One of those kinds of books that it is for most ages.

I didn't like the first book of the Artemis Fowl series, but as a fan of graphic novels I wanted to give this version of Artemis Fowl a change. I've should have known better. I didn't like it at all and had to force myself to finish this horrible book. I didn't like the illustrations and didn't like the story. A candidate for the bin.

This is my second time reading the graphic novel. I did enjoy it but I feel like I’m missing something. Maybe I should reread the books too?
I really liked the art and font, though.

So-so...I'm not a graphic novel connoisseur, but the drawings weren't very good from that respect. Because of that I'd probably just recommend reading the original books, the extra details make the plot more entertaining and character development stronger.

This is hard to read for anyone who hasn't already read the novel it's based on. The novel had more time to develop the characters, world, and plot. This is like reading a SparkNotes summary.

I enjoyed it! I realize how ruthless Arty-boy was now that I see his actions illustrated. I think this art style worked great, but some scenes are a tad grosser here than it was in the book thanks to the magic of illustration.
it's been a while since I've read Artemis Fowl, but they cut the ending short of when they find his dad.

Great character portrayal! Loved Holly's ears! I haven't read the novels but this made me want to.

Ehhh. This is the graphic novel form of one of my favorite books. Maybe if I had not read the original book I might have liked this graphic novel better. The illustrations are well done, I just do not like the look they have given to any of the characters. Plus, the story has been so simplified that it loses its heart, and some characters are just side pieces to be killed off and forgotten about. Skip this book and read the real thing. You will thank me for it.
