Not great but I really need some mid YA to regulate my nervous system and this is doing the trick
This series is one of the most unique creations I have ever read! I definitely liked the first installment better but hey, this was still a very good sequel.
My feelings for this book are a bit complex. Truth be told I’d rate it 3.5 stars but rounded down as I thought it out. It’s an entertaining read and certainly a fine continuation of the story started in the previous book but therein lies my biggest problem. I will acknowledge this may just be my first experience with this type of series in book form and that may be on me but there is truly nothing self contained in this book. It’s a bridge to the next one with nothing truly distinctive about this section of the story. And the twist at the end felt more like a cheat than an enjoyable shock.
All that being said the characters are enjoyable and well developed for the most part and the story is compelling.
I just wish the story had at least SOME elements that felt concluded at the end.
I will continue the book series and see if I get used to this style or perhaps enjoy book 3 more.

Cue the pick up put down loop.
I read the first book and enjoyed it. The world was fresh and interesting. And then I picked up this book. The beginning hooked me but the middle sagged in some areas causing me to lose interest.
Finally yesterday I decided to push through and it did get better. I think the cast of perculiers were so fun to read about. Their chemistry was fun to read.
I also loved the setting. The 1940's are one of my favorite time periods to read about for one reason or another.
The ending definitely left me gasping for the third book so I'm definitely going to be continued the series within the next year or so (i gotta give myself a manageable goal. Lol)
3 stars out of 5.

Ransom Riggs' 2nd book of the Peculiar Children series is not as engaging as the 1st. Also despite being set in Wales and London there ate several annoying Americanisms from the US author. Still, much more time travelling and action and a suspenseful ending. Yes, I'll be buying the next when it comes out.

This book was even better than the first. Reading it was like having your favorite song on pause and then pressing play again....started right where it left off. I love how Riggs continues to build on the world. The introduction of new characters was sooo exciting for me!!
I don't have anything bad to say at all about this second installment to the trilogy it was just that great. I absolutely adore the children especially Millard and Olive. It is very interesting knowing that these are old people but due to their outward appearance they still behave so child like.
The book was awesome!

5 estrellitas. Hice un poco de trampa y después de ver la película de Miss Peregrine, necesitaba con urgencia leer el segundo libro. Y me encantó. Es una de las sagas de fantasía que más me gustan, y la narración de la historia combinada con fotografías en blanco y negro me pareció bastante original y lo disfruté.
