This book was really good! I read it in a day and it was a great read. Overall the time travel and loops were explained well.
There were a few questions I had reading it like what happened to the twins from the first book? I mean Jacob interacts with them and there’s pictures of them at the home. It’s not like they were made up for the movie. There in the books but where did they go? Another question I had was about Bonwyn’s trunk like I know she leaves it in the crypt but earlier when there running though the forest and away from the Hallow at the menagerie is she just carrying it? Sometimes it felt like little details were missing but really it’s an amazing novel.
10/10 would recommend.

It has been about a year since I read the first book in this series and thankfully, I hadn't forgotten the characters.
Unlike the first book, I thought the book was a little bit draggy at times and only really picked up a little after the middle of the book. The many close shaves for the Peculiars were nerve-wrecking and Jacob's constant self-doubt was starting to annoy me.
The relationship between Jacob and Emma, though sweet, still makes me uncomfortable. I think it's probably related to the fact that Emma did have some sort of affection for Jacob's grandfather and it's just weird that she's into Jacob too.
Nonetheless, a pretty good read for the series. Can't wait to start on the last book!

I know this was meant to be a kid's book, but I still thought the writing was pretty poor. It felt like Ransom Riggs was making up the story as he went along, and I got really sick of it.

This series is interesting, and I like the concept, but it has been hard to push and try and finish this series.
