Solid read. Great follow-up to the first installation.

Had some issues with this book. Drove me crazy for half the book that Bronwyn's trunk magically followed them everywhere. How did they not drown the bird going through the menagerie loop? They all miss Abe so much, but as they're running around 1940 it doesn't occur to any of them that Abe is alive in 1940 and maybe could help them? Still enjoyable though, and I will read the next one.

Creepy, haunting, edge of your seat fun! Love this series and can hardly wait to read the third book.

So far these books have been decent. You can tell when the author tweaks the story to accommodate one of the vintage photos and in so doing detracts from the overall experience rather than enhancing it. While it is a unique idea, it also shackled the author to it. I will finish the series and I do like the hardcover boxed set with the collectible photos that came with it.

I loved the first book in this series so much that I devoured the second one. The peculiar children escape from the island and are on a mission to save Miss Peregrine, who is stuck in bird form. But all is not as it seems and there are creepy children – shown in actual photographs – the peculiar group meets along the way. The children work together in a “time loop” in 1940s London to save Miss Peregrine – and themselves – before the peculiars are gone forever.

This book was a page turner for me. My one criticism is that it’s a little repetitive. I found it irritating that things were described the same way in one paragraph. I also didn’t think some of the descriptions of things mentioned in the previous book were necessary, but maybe that’s just because I read them back to back. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this and did not expect that ending!

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Had trouble getting up to speed because I couldn't remember the last book very well. I love the inclusion of the photos. It's a very inventive way to tell the story. I like to imagine the author sifting through the old photos trying to put together a story from what he sees.

Really enjoy the interaction of found photos with the story.
