Another amazing instalment in the series! I swear, this story just does something to me like none other. Every time I'm not reading it, I want to be reading it, and when it's over I just want to get onto the next book! The characters, as in the first one, were fantastic, as were the plot twists which I did not see coming at all, and I really loved the character development in the peculiar children's backstories. I also liked the fact that this book highlighted some characters who were mostly in the background in the first book. All in all, I don't really think that I have any faults with this book, so I'll give it the full 5/5 stars and I cannot wait until I can buy the final book in the trilogy, which will hopefully be very soon!

Man... This book was good. Maybe even better than the first one. It was so fast and so intriguing. But are you kidding me with the ending?! I was planning to read this one and then take a break. Now I wanna run to the library and borrow the next one XD But anyways, it's really cool to read something that wasn't in the movie. I know that they cut the majority of it most likely, since it's what? 5 books? And only one movie. But it's just awesome. I liked the new characters, the plot twist, Jacob's powers. I'm really glad I started this series.
This book just didn't grab my attention like the first one did. Maybe too much time has passed since I read the first one but it was really challenging to pick up and remember everything that had happened. I had to take a break and read online summaries of the first book. Then this book was just endless running. At times the pacing was very "Dan Brown" - something crazy happens every few pages which should make the book exciting but the endless turmoil becomes very boring. It's set up for another book and I doubt I'll read that one.
Another issue I had - in the first book, the photos of the "peculiars" made sense because he had found his grandfather's old photos. In this book the photos make no sense at all. Like they meet a girl who is peculiar because she can heal up quickly when impaled. They meet her during a bombing and attack but at some point someone snapped a photo of her? It's weird and nonsensical.

This is the second book in the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children series. Much more fast paced than the first book, more action, more movement--although I do think I favor the first book more! This part had lots of development but not as mind-catching as the initial book for me. Will likely pick up the 3rd book of the series at some point, just not aching to keep on it right now.
