Deeply disturbing, felt like there was more “dark” than “romance”. The first half (Addie and trafficking and SA etc) was too traumatizing and sick to read through. And then the romance aspect with zade was just not my scene; his whole God complex was so ickyyyy and the smut was not it. I knew it’d have triggering content, so I was prepared, this is just not my kind of book

It was so painful to read at the start. H.D Carlton really described everything so good it was so sad to read. And how she felt afterwards as well. Zade is such an angel. I lovet he 180 tho and the ENDING. Like yeah pop off get her gurl honestly Fransesca should've died a worse death just sayin...

Wie schon beim ersten Band, sollte man auch hier die Trigger Warnung sehr ernst nehmen. Zumal Band 2 einen etwas mehr mit nimmt.

band 2 schließt direkt am ersten an und puh es ist wirklich hart. Adeline ist in den Händen eines Menschenhändler Rings gelandet. Und dieser Teil der Handlung ist wirklich nicht ohne und erstreckt sich fast die Hälfte des Buches.
Aber ich muss sagen es war spannend, schon alleine weil die Geschichte wieder aus beiden Sichten wieder geschrieben wird.
Was ich gut finde ist, das die Handlung sich aber auch Zeit gelassen hat.
Ja die erste Hälfte nimmt einen Emotional mit, aber es wird einfach auch im nachhinein nicht einfach alles kurz abgehandelt
Zade gibt Adeline Zeit, wirklich Zeit mit vielen Sachen. Er verstehet sie, achtet wie schon im ersten Band auf ihre Körpersprache.
Es wird hier nichts verherrlichte oder sonstiges.
Die Charaktere sind komplex und vielschichtig, befinden sich zwar oft einer Grauzone.
Und auch wenn ich das Buch mal Zwischenzeitlich auch mal weggelegt habe, was in dem Fall einfach nur war um einiges sacken zu lassen.
Konnte mich dieser Teil wieder mit überzeugen.

@hdcarltonauthor really did an amazing job with this one.

I’m going to try to keep y’all as in the dark as possible because this story deserves to read.

As in the pic check the warnings even the author says it’s darker than the first and she MEANS it.

Addie is not in a good place a lot of this book. The author really dove deep into sex trafficking and the aftermath of victims.

You’ll want to tear your hair out but Addie and Z being apart for so long is essential to the story and their relationship.

If I had 20 stars I’d throw it at this book. It def deserves more than a 5.

Also And I’m sorry to my family for this part of the review but…the spicy scenes with Z?????? Those are gonna be playing in my fantasies rent free prolly till I’m 6ft under.
