DNF over half way through. I tried again to finish it, thinking it was maybe my mood (I’m definitely a mood reader) But nope, I just couldn’t read any more. I struggled with the format, I struggled to like any of the characters and I struggled to even find the menace in the plot. It started well and the premise was fantastic, it just sadly didn’t live up to my expectations. Not a great thriller at all in my humble opinion.
This book is best described as “meh”. The concept is clever but the flesh on the bone is weak and flabby. It needed a good edit and more likeable characters albeit the ending was clever.

This book has been on my tbr shelf for some time and I wanted to read the book before watching the adaptation on Prime Video.
Our House is told from two alternating perspectives from that of Bram and Fiona or Fi as she is referred to in this book. This book is written in an interesting format and I have not read very many books written this way. Bram's narrative point of view is written in the format of a word document and Fi's point of view is written in the format of a podcast.
I did find the book to be a bit of a slow start, but once I got into the flow of the writing style and the pace picked up a bit and more started happening, I was turning the pages.
I feel the book did slow down the pace a bit in the middle with necessary timeline details that needed to be established, but picked up again for a twisty second half and the ending. Having said this, the pacing at the ending was so different from the rest of the book and so much was happening it had a really different feel compared to the earlier parts. A lot of filler, but still details that needed to be provided, I guess.
Overall an enjoyable read and I am glad I have read it so I can now see what was done with the series adaptation. The series adaptation is comprised of four episodes so it should be a pretty quick series to watch.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Candlish had a way of manipulating the story, in a way in which I could not have predicted the ending. Overall I enjoyed the entire story, but the ending was what made it. There is a finishing touch that makes you want to know more. I'd definitely recommend this book in a heartbeat!
Thanks to Louise Candlish and Berkley Publishing Group for providing me with an advanced reading copy!

May come back to it another time... style of writing didn't catch my interest right now.
I knew early on in the book that the style of writing didn't resonate with me and that I found the characters one dimensional and abhorrent, but the premise of the story was so intriguing I had to know how it all ended.
I'm glad I continued the book but it was a big let down, it was a great idea in principle but Brams word document style delivery got old quickly and was a long drawn out, painful explanation of the story in general. Most of the twists are worked out a few pages ahead of time, and don't come as a surprise.
The ending lacked spark, I was hoping for a big crescendo but instead it just petered off into self pity and more wallowing than you can stomach from Fi. Really not a fan of the book, nor the writing style.

DNF. ABOUT 45% through, I realized that I didn’t care what happened because the story was too unbelievable
medium-paced
I would have given 3 stars had it not been for the mind blowing ending.
2.5⭐️- I nearly dnf’ed, decent end but a whole lot of nothing in the middle, the plot has potential
