Made it to the third (fourth?) issue. It’s just not for me. Decided I could use the first issue to count for my reading goal instead of forcing myself to read something I’m not enjoying.

Loved the art work. I didnt realise how much I enjoyed ancient Egyptian steampunk art, my own variation of course, may just be my next tattoo. There is a lot of story to be told in this graphic novel: world building, back stories, conflict construction, plot,... which all clocks in just over 200 pages. It feels like the story just throws you in the midst of it all and at times it felt like I was scrambling to catch up. I definitely read this one slower than many other graphic novels I've read, I didn't want to miss any important description or plot point. It was brutal at points making it in my opinion a mature recommendation. But overall I really enjoyed it and will reread it as well as vol. 2.

A generous ⭐⭐⭐ The illustrations are gorgeous, but the story ddidn't wow me. I enjoyed it but wasn't blown away. I'm intrigued enough to check out volume 2.
