This was an absolute dumpster fire. This is the second book I’ve been forced to read by this author due to being in a book club and they both were horrible. Please stop writing novels. This one, however, takes the cake. This novel was a mishmosh of stories that made zero sense, were so completely boring, and that read like a high schooler wrote them. I want to poke my eyes out after reading this.

Hard to rate as it covers multiple time periods with some fairy tale elements.  The history was interesting.

Think “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” but way more bookish and with historical context. Finally a book that makes good on its claim to be for book lovers.

Before I was even halfway through reading this book I just knew I needed to slow down and read it sparingly, like the last piece of chocolate you want to savor every minute of. I would have been done with it much sooner but I really wanted it to last and was sad to have to see it end.

Such an original and engaging story, I was not able to see the twists and turns coming. Endearing and well fleshed-out characters that take you on their journeys with them as though you are side by side. Not all questions are answered by the end, but I think that is the beauty of the mystery of it all. I don’t feel as though I have been left on a cliffhanger, just that I would like to live in this bookshop and watch the new stories unfold.

📖 Such a delightful read! I read, The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods a little while ago, somewhere that felt utterly magical to me, which made the story even more special.

This one seems to get mixed reviews, but honestly? I adored it. It was cozy, quietly enchanting, and full of charm. The premise was original, with a dash of magical realism. There’s talk about the Brontë sisters and deep love for books.

This story will resonate with any reader, but I have a feeling book dealers and sellers will feel an extra little tug.
