I love this style of pastoral writing so I’m a bit biased in my review here. If you’re looking for an action or drama packed book, this ain’t it. The story is very much a day to day progression of events, everything develops slowly (plot, relationships, characters). There is a lot of plot set up and foreshadowing, but nothing really major happens in the book. There is a big event at the end and a cliffhanger, but it didn’t stress me out. I liked the characters and I liked the paranormal development. I was sad when I got to the rating page and realized book two wasn’t out yet (I was ready to start it right away)

I enjoyed the mystery of all the characters unfolding throughout the story. The mfc was strong and loveable character. The relationship developed with Raf was sweet. Unsure about this whole,' I want my cake and eat it as well ' attitude but look forward to seeing how all the relationships pan out. Look forward to the next book.

This book was all over the place. The characters definitely grew on me, but for awhile there a couple of them were really struggling to even become likable.
The fmc was supposedly a 17 yr old stripper? Yet later in the book she says she hates attention and eye on her? At no point in the book did she behave like a female empowered and proud of her body. The girl lived in hoodies, and I'm supposed to believe she was a stripper? I feel a better backstop could have been made to give her access to money. It came across as extremely lazy writing since nothing was ever done with it.
The fmc also kept repeating that she was turning 18 in less than 2 months. Except the timeline is all over the place. She also says super early in the book, that she graduates in less than 2 months. That puts the time roughly in April, as most US schools let out in June sometime. Except later on when she thinks someone is playing a prank, she says "It's not April yet, but you fooled me." Okay which means it's supposed to be March? But that means previous events took place even sooner in the year?? And then as time progresses, days pass a lot, a week passes. Time is clearly moving forward. Except later in the book when a lot of time has passed, and her birthday and end of the year should be approaching, it's only "spring". The pacing was incredibly uneven.
Her birthday was made to be something important, like some clue to her supernatural nature. And it's completely forgotten about.
It also means she's underage for a lot of the sexual flirting happening in the 2nd half of the book. Which was a little cringe.
I liked the first half of the book, but the more it dragged out and confused itself the less I liked it. I will not be continuing the series.

Graphic: Adult/minor relationship
Moderate: Death of parent, Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Child abuse, Car accident
Hmm more like 1,5? Idk. Die Story an sich hatte Potenzial, aber irgendwie als ich weiter gelesen habe, wurde es immer enttäuschender?
Worse than Twilight, but just as addictive
Man, this crazy book didn’t let me put it down.
It is a guilty pleasure. One vampire, 4 shifters, the girl who no one knows what she is.
It is terribly written, but the story is addictive. I needed to know more so I kept reading.
Off to the second book

Lexi is on the run. She is a foster child but has run away for reasons we don't know yet. Of course, she gets caught, but there are curious references, like what she is and info about her past, that we are missing. Rafferty is also a curious story as he comes into the story at the same time Lexis's world is changing.
She has some strange encounters at her new school, and I need help figuring out where the author is going with this story. However, I do like its unpredictable nature. Galen, the teacher's POV, and his being a vampire finally add a paranormal explanation to this story.
If this story is a teacher/student romance, it will be very strange. All the men in the story are weird: Maverick, Ranger, Raf, and especially the teacher. This book has some bully romance vibes, with the shifters from one pack targeting the outcast Shifter and wanting to mate with Lexi simultaneously. But the boys are brutal in this book in how they behave.
So, the Paranormal World Shifter's secret is now out to Lexi, but you still need to learn what she is. Oh, the Twilight references come into play. So far, this book could be more thrilling.
Things become more normal between Lexi and Ranger and intimate with Raf, but the story has yet to end. His story ends with almost a reverse harem, but more must be determined. There were little enemies to lovers themeing with her and a few certain men in the storyline.
It was an okay read, but it could have been better. We never did discover why she was different. The men did get along by the end of the book, but her mystery was never solved. I'm not interested in reading the series further.
