I've had this on my TBR for quite a while and used my TBR cards to help me pick, and I'm so glad I did.

The main focus is around Cleo & Frank, who we follow for around a year/year and half after they meet on New Year's Eve and get married a few months later. The book focuses on the way people think and act and how certain circumstances lead to the choices and decisions they make. We don't just see what Cleo & Frank are doing, but we have chapters on many of the side characters and all chapters are told in 3rd person except Eleanor who tells her story in 1st person which I found really interesting.

Cleo is only 25 when she meets Frank, who is in his early 40s so the relationship between them is really fascinating seeing what they have experienced prior to meeting and where they are mentally in their life.

The book was fast-paced, and the characters were well written and had a point to the story.

I look forward to reading more from Coco.

Maybe I didn’t give it enough time, but it seemed like there was no plot. All of the characters felt like they just wanted a pity party. “Oh woe is is me, living in New York is so hard, i’m 40 and all I do is cocaine and drink”. Not my vibe.
