This is a classic mystery whodunnit that's a bit more complex than today's popular suspense and thriller novels. I felt a bit inception-like with the novel inside of a novel, but I quite enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this mystery - it isn't very deep nor terribly dark, but it's a fun ride. For lovers of the genre, you might find some elements of this to be a little insulting. It's a bit of a commentary on popular mysteries, but I think it's also self-deprecating. I enjoyed it overall.

I wanted to love this book. It’s a clever concept but I found myself trudging through it.

Really, really, really good! However, Mr. Horowitz, we all know you created Midsomer Murders - and it's a hit - no need to mention it seven times in this book. Tsk, tsk. (LOL).
Actually, though, this IS a good read - a mystery within a mystery.
