This took me a long time to finish, but that was not completely due to disinterest in the plot. The author plays with the idea of a book within a book, which left me trying in vain to make connections between the two plots, to no avail.

mysterious medium-paced

A book inside a book. Delightfully Agatha Christy influenced, this book glides in just the right pace. Only one section seemed unnecessary ( comparing at length, 2 books). Tea, wine and delicious foods must be on hand to enjoy with the book....
The audio version was great.
A BBC mini series will be a must!

3.5
very entertaining.

Slow to start, but the second half was very enjoyable. Learned lots (I hope somewhat true) about the making of a whodunnit.
