My son (11) and I quite enjoyed this book. It had pirates, sabotage, and triumphant heros. What's not to like for a young boy?
I listened to the audiobook via Audible.
Mostly my motivation for reading this is because I love the TV show Black Sails. Also, I love Treasure Planet. However the story didn’t really capture my attention (maybe because I’ve seen so many different movies/tv shows based on the book).

I should have read this book years ago. A great pirate adventure highly recommended!
Somehow I missed this one growing up. But it's very good - a pure adventure story from beginning to end, stacked with swashbuckling detail that would eventually become the source of every buccaneer trope in popular culture. Now I understand why Jack London sailed around halfway around the world to find Stevenson's island grave. I'd venture to say that if you enjoy reading, even just a little bit, you'll be guaranteed to enjoy this story.
