This is one of the greatest of the Poirot / Hastings novels. They’re at such a comfortable place in their friendship — reunited after a few years’ separation and going right back into their old habits (at one point Hastings makes fun of Poirot’s clothes and Poirot replies that Hastings’ clothes are so bad he might as well join a nudist colony).
Also the plot twist is a solid A+.

My first Agatha Christie novel and honestly not a bad place to start. Poirot and Hastings’ dynamic as a duo was quite enjoyable and I have to admit I didn’t see that twist ending coming.

So clever, and I enjoyed the insertion of chapters from other characters. You think you know who it is from the start and have been given some extra knowledge to Poirot, but of course this is Christie, so you're never going to be 100%. Very good.
Maybe its too fast for me to read another book by Agatha Christie, especially after And then There were None. The ABC Murders is a smart case, yet like Poirot, it confused me, and I didnt like the feeling when i thought i knew something but turned out to be i knew nothing. Just like Poirot said, intuition is an impression based on logic deduction and experience, i had the feeling about how the story went. Yet i couldnt find the answer. Its like reading Holmes when the culprit is someone unexpected, even the motive and the modus.
When the truth hadnt revealed yet, i thought it was a queer and a unique case. When the truth was revealed, it was a smart and sly case. Its a great book but didnt leave a better impression than 3 stars.

Utterly engrossing with another fantastic twist!
Though certain chapters had me doubting the upcoming satisfaction of the outcome, I was thankfully very mistaken.
Agatha Christie proves in 'The ABC Murders' that she is indeed the Queen of Crime Fiction.
