Such a good listen! I honestly don't know why this book intrigued me so much, but I think it was a mix of the oddball main character that I love and the psychological thriller aspect, all together! Definitely disturbing and unlike any other book I've read lately.

Started so promising and ended in boring misery. If you're in the mood for that, this may be a good one for you.

“If Wednesday Addams grew up in rural Ireland and accidentally kicked off a dark family mystery by taking things a little too literally…. You’d get Strange Sally Diamond. This book is sharp, haunting, and unexpectedly hilarious. A story about trauma, trust, and figuring out how to belong when the world keeps calling you strange. You’ll root for Sally from page one, even as the story pulls you deeper into the dark.”

4/5. Honestly quite happy with this book. Loved the mystery aspect trying to figure things about before it had been revealed. Not as unhappy with the ending as I thought it would be. Yes, it would have been wonderful if Sally and Peter could happily be in one another’s lives but considering all that Peter had done? I don’t think that’s feasible and I think that their inability to coexist was inevitable. As for Sally’s anger in the final chapters, I think it makes sense given her character and the depth of information revealed to her (how Tom treated Jean, Linda being Amanda’s mother, and Peter running away). I don’t think she doesn’t get her happy ended and it is left open ended!

4.5/5 the ending made me sad but I guess it ended ok as well. I loved the topic of the book and it kept me very interested
