before anything i would like to say that choosing death as the narrator was really good. he is such a spoiler. true to his character and yet manage to show me he has a heart. i always knew he had one. but i didnt know it was circular. this book is so amazing i cannot fathom how i am very pleased to have read this. you know when you have to pause after one chapter and cry. just to let it all out. i mean how can markus be calmed and say rudy was going to die at the first few chapters. gosh. now im crying. liesel was an incredibly brave half of a woman. there are a lot of amazing this that had happened here. my favourite was when ilsa let her ib to her library. i had to stop and sync all that in. that was really lovely. i love this book. please read it. please.

اینکه راوی داستانی " مرگ " باشه؟ اینکه تماما عشق به واژه و کتاب‌ها باشه؟ اینکه زیر آتیش جنگ و شعله‌ها رخ داده باشه؟ گمونم این روزها، از خوندن داستان‌هایی با فضای این چنینی بیشترین لذت ممکن رو در عین غمگین شدن، می‌برم. داستان در زمان جنگ جهانی دوم و توی آلمان نازی اتفاق می‌افته. جایی که آدم‌ها نوای " های هیتلر " نباید از دهنشون بیفته و آدم‌های دیگه‌ای که خائن به حساب میان باید صداشون رو ببُرن. و اما لیزل ممینگر، دختری که در بحبوحه‌ی جنگ به یه خونواده‌ی جدید سپرده می‌شه کسیه که سعی می‌کنه با واژه‌ها خودش و آدم‌ها رو نجات بده. لیزل دست از خوندن نمی‌کشه، نیمه شب، بعد از کابوس‌هاش، توی پناهگاه و توی زیر زمین خونه همیشه دنبال یاد گرفتنه. دختری که شجاعتش رو جمع می‌کنه و با سختی‌های زندگیش جوری کنار میاد که فقط می‌تونم بهش افتخار کنم. توی این کتاب، به زبان ساده خیلی از واقعیت‌ها بیان می‌شن و نحوه‌ی روایت خاص و منحصر به فرد خودش رو داره. از خوندنش حسابی لذت بردم و خوشحالم که این کتاب عمیق و زیبا رو به فرزندی قبول کردم.

I had a difficult time getting through this book. Although I found it interesting at times and the overall concept interesting there just wan't enough flow for me to stick to it. It took me a long time to read this one and I don't think I would read it again.
