I may have liked the first one just a smidge more but this one was also incredible! Having this take place a little over a year after the events of Clown in a Cornfield was a brilliant decision on Cesare's part as the characters are still living through their trauma but some have "recovered" faster than others. I loved that this one had more perspectives than the first novel and followed a more rounded cast of characters. While this first one felt like Quinn's story, this one felt like the story of all the survivors. To avoid spoilers I won't mention names but I still have my favorite and least favorite characters. The pacing was spot on and the date of around Halloween time was perfect. If you like a fun, don't think about it too much, fast-paced slasher then you need to pick up this series!!

MAN.
This was SUCH a good read. Not many cases of a second book being better than the first one, yet here we are.
Adam Cesare outdid himself.

Nothing but praises can be said about the story. Despite this being counted as a slasher story (Or so I think.) the gory scenes weren't overly squicky, if anything they were handled in such a way even a wimp like me could handle them. Despite reading the first book so long ago, all the pieces clicked into place smoothly, even when my memory is wonky itself.
All in all? Amazing book, straight into my favourites' shelf.

Or maybe the ending was so satisfying to this revenge junkie of yours that I'm still riding the high of finishing a great story.
Hell hath no fury, after all.

I enjoyed this and thought it was a fun sequel. I think the storyline in this book is slightly weaker with the essentially new cult of Friendos, but I enjoyed seeing the characters relationships with each other and felt that was explored more in this book. I’m also glad this book introduced a new character Jerry so we had a different perspective and liked the twist involving her story. Overall it was very fun, that being said I don’t think a third book is necessary but I’ll probably still read it since I’m curious about how Quinn’s story ends.

I really enjoyed this sequel the first book but I did get quite lost with all the different povs from all the different characters in this book. I really enjoyed seeing how all the characters were doing a year later on from the first clown attack and how they tried to live their life’s. I liked how well all the characters were written and how well all the characters worked well together. The only bit that let me down was the clown killings as they were so random and were just targeting the same people from the first book or their family members. I didn’t really like the clown killings this time around they were still gorey like the first book but didn’t really keep me on my feet or gripped. I am looking forward to the third book too see how it all ties together but I don’t think they needs to be any more sequels after the third book xxx

"FRENDO LIVES"

Book 2 carries on where we left off with Book 1, showing our main trio a little shaken up and worse for wear. Quinn, Rust, and Cole all deal with their respective trauma from the event in various ways (anxious fitness drills, continuous scanning of surroundings, and, in Cole's case, asshole behaviour). A lot was happening within this book, but I was here with it overall. Some conspiracy and hoax elements were brewing and keeping Frendo's legacy alive, an almost Michael Myers-esque villain was seen in Arthur Hill (kind of), and the threat of the Internet and its ability to form virtual and physical mobs loomed over the story. Part of me wishes we got to spend more time at Duvall Farms Haunted Hayride and Scream Park (the site of the massacre from the first book). It took such a central role at the beginning, but the final showdown took place nowhere near there. I feel like this book could have knocked it out of the part if it had taken a second to tighten up some of the pov's and maybe saved Arthur Hill for a later book instead of this one. Aside from that, I still really enjoyed the book and the new characters AND I am REALLY excited to see where Quinn will be based on the final scene of the book.
