The only reason I read this book was for my book club and that the author has a well-known presence in the fanfiction community. And guys, before you go, oh no gross fanfiction, believe me when I say I used to be one of those people, but after I read my first fanfiction, I was hooked.
Well, anyway, about this book. I'm mad at Ama's mum. And felt so bad for her that she thought about weddings the way she did even though she was a very talented wedding planner. The chemistry between Elliott and Ama was great, and it does feel like a proper slow burn but at the same time doesn't. Writing was also great, easy to follow (what I really need nowadays because this girl gets confused very easily).
Peace out
Thanks netgalley for the e-arc of this book and I'm leaving the review voluntarily.

this is a second chance romance between an ambitious wedding planner named ama (who is definitely a commitaphobe) and a antisocial, grumpy florist named elliot. after being forced to work on a job together, the two must face their past and put aside any hard feelings but can they do that when there’s so much left unsaid?
i really enjoyed the authors use of dual POV and dual timeline! julie soto’s writing style is super fun and very easy to read! there were so many moments between the two MC’s that had me giggling and kicking my feet, every time elliot would get jealous or show ama one of her tattoos i would swoon! i screamed when he revealed that he had gotten a tattoo based off the flower she’s named after. the romance was very sweet, but a little underwhelming, and i think that was because the characters themselves were underdeveloped as well.
i felt like there was not enough of an exploration into the individual characters that are ama and elliot. i would have loved more background on how and why ama was so afraid of commitment rather than the repetitive statement of “my moms been married 16 times and counting.”
i enjoyed this book overall, i just wanted more of our main characters!
