Thought this was historical fiction and that I would follow a character or two when I started reading. Totally not that, this is the first history book I have ever read and I really enjoyed it. The author is totally enamored by the Midnight Assassin and he told the story very well.

A fledging Austin is the main character. True crime, but much more than that, as well.
skysbooknook's review against another edition
True Crime books should not be boring, but this one was. The author focuses so much time on useless facts and description not even relating to the murders, it became frustrating and tedious to go on reading.
