I love the Discworld but I just don't think the counterweight continent is for me.

From the 9th to the 17th book, Pratchett certainly a LOT of time to think about Rincewind. I feel like Rincewind is actually realized in this one, compared to all the earlier installments of the Rincewind Saga.
I had to remind myself that this series was based mostly in satirized fantasy, and it still holds some of that energy that was established a decade before. But this actually uses that as a stepladder into reaching the top shelf of engagement. I didn't hate Rincewind this time, and Cohen plus his geriatric barbarian crew learning civilization was a treat to behold.
Twoflower came a bit late in the plot, in my opinion. But I'm happy that he showed up at all! It was a pleasant surprise to throw it back all the way to the first books in the Discworld series. This one felt earned.

This one didn’t feel quite as tight as some of the others. A few of the characters just sort of seemed to be there. But still funny, still charming, still a few stings at the foibles of society. Always love Pratchett

There were a lot of uncomfortable racial/ethnic stereotypes that were made the butt of a joke. It was really just uncomfortable. Normally terry Pratchett is really progressive, but probably just give this one a miss
Moderate: Racism
