WOW. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It is... in my own personal language... taylor-coded, nina-coded, cottagecore, autumn-leaves-falling-down-like-pieces-into-place-core, smutty, silly, sweet, and exciting. This fulfilled all of my reader needs in a witchy romcom. It had an easygoing but adventurous charm that I have not felt from a book in years, and made me want nothing more than to drink pumpkin chai under a warm blanket with Halloweentown playing in the background. I am so enchanted to read this one, and cannot wait for the next to come out!

There was a time when I thought Meg Cabot could do no wrong. And, to be fair, there wasn't anything glaringly wrong with this book, either. I just never got attached to the characters or invested in their romance, and I wasn't concerned about the outcome of the magical plotline either.

I read this in a day…and I wish I hadn’t. It’s not bad but it’s just so painfully average

This one wasn't for me. Read if you like stories or witches saving their town from destruction. Maybe you'll like it more than me!
