Possibly my favourite book of the series. I'm a thousand years late, I know, but I am so invested in Arthur Dent and Fenchurch I will k word someone if they don't have a good resolution.

My fourth reread in this series, but the first one I read when I was reading them for the first time, and always my favourite.
Sigh. It was still good--still sweet, still funny, still bizarre--but really doesn't quite hang together as a novel. It reads as a series of episodes loosely based on a radio series written under scattered conditions. Which is funny, because it isn't--the first three were, but Adam wrote *So Long* first and only as a novel. I don't care, though--there's giant hole here but I love it anyway.

This is the closest book so far to a traditional linear novel and I'm HERE for the Arthur vindication!!! He actually got character development and was allowed to flourish. Love Fenchurch. Ford was his usual bonkers self. Really enjoyed this!

I think this may be my favourite of the series so far except for maybe the first book. I found it funnier than the others and liked the addition of the new characters :)

True to form this book is off-the-wall and funny at times. I didn't find it nearly as funny as his other books. The first book is still the best. Arthur on his own is somewhat endearing in his blunders, but it is his interaction with other characters that make the books more interesting. Wonko the Sane is a great new character, and the Rain God's complaining was entertaining. Arthur's interaction with Ford near the end was much funnier than most of the other parts. Once again, we get more questions than answers. Oh the irony.
