I was a little skeptical about reading this because I did not enjoy Under the Lights. However I did like this one.
Riley was my type of character. She was strong female character, stronger than other main characters that Glines has written about. She took a terrible situation (a rape) and became positive about the outcome which was her daughter. It took a lot of guts to come back to an entire town that hates you and thinks the worst of you. I like that she didn’t hide into the background or just take their mean comments. She was also a great mom to Bryony. (Still confused about that name)
I wasn’t too fond of Brady in Under the Lights so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m glad he finally got his shit together and broke up with Ivy and that he believed Riley and went out of his way to reach out to her and be in her life.
I actually liked Brady and Riley together, more than I actually thought I would. She was there for Brady when he needed it he helped Riley open her heart again.
The reason I had to dock a star is because even though her rape is brought up pretty often, it was just brushed aside too often for my liking.
All in all it was a cute book with a great female lead and I enjoyed it.

Lawton is a football town so anything that mars that is chased from town. Riley who accuses Rhett of rape is run off in shame with her parents. When her parents come home to care for her ailing grandmother, Riley comes with them. She just wants to stay under the radar, raise her daughter and be left alone. That ends quickly when she accepts a ride from Brady.
He quickly learns that her claims are true and decides to support her his friends be damned. Personal family things rock and destroy his foundation. He leans on her during this time and a sweet romance blossoms. This was the good part.
My issues are the whole rape thing was hush hush and even when people believe her, nothing is done to undo the damage it caused. The accused is never really called out for his behavior and everyone goes on bleeding football in this town.

i really liked riley but brady was kind of really annoying in this book. i also think the way this relationship evolved with a child involved was too fast and it kind of grossed me out but i was happy with the ending and that riley didn’t give in
I read this in under 24 hours which is pretty customary for an Abbi Glines book. This book was special because it was Brady’s book and since the beginning I have always loved his character. After meeting Riley in the last book I also really wanted to hear her story. How perfect is it then that this book is their stories. I really enjoy this series and how quickly I can read one of the books. It is also always a sure fire way to get out of a reading slump too.
The writing was good, but i didn’t like the development of the story nor how issues were handled. The ending was also not enough for me.
Rating 3.75
I read this book in a day thats how easy it was to get through. The writing was well done and the characters were likable. This book was different in that it deals with a teenage mom. However, I found the book to be annoying at times and very repetitive. I wanted the main character to stick up for herself for what happened to her in the past but it never happens. She always says she doesn't care but deep down she does because she is always having an inner conflict within herself about how she is treated in town. The adults didn't seem realistic at all. Almost all of the adults in the story seemed way to cookie cutter or overly positive. I'm all for having good parents but in certain situations that just wouldn't be the case. It is normal for parents to get upset or disagree with their child but this book didn't really show that the best. I did really enjoy the romance in this story because they build as friends. Overall, this book wasn't bad it was actually a good read with some minor problems.

I’m glad I kept going with this series. This one was really good just like the first book. It’s super sweet and has small town drama like the first two but this one might be my favorite so far.
I really like this one. I need to go back and listen to the first two, but I'm enjoying this series so far.
Well, finally one I liked. Haha. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t hate the others I just wasn’t a fan. Not bad enough to not want to finish them. This one though I enjoyed right from the beginning to the end.
Riley came back to town because her Grandmother needed her help. But she comes back with her darling little girl. We met Gunner in Book 2 and we also learn that Rhett is his brother and was accused of rape by Riley and no one believed her. She and her family left but like I said they came back because her Gran needed them.
The truth always comes out.
Which is what I loved and I loved that Riley never backs down she knew the truth and didn’t let it affect who she was. Brady is considerate. I loved that he just got it. He didn’t force her, he didn’t forget she had a daughter.
The ending was how I thought it would go, and very little drama which really was amazing considering the last few books. I am looking forward to the next in the series I know I said that. Lol.
I am trying to listen to all Abbi Glines books and I am down to 1 left. Woohoo.
I like the narration I am a fan of all the narrators of Abbi’s books.
