I really enjoyed listening to Rob Lowe tell his story. He is extremely talented when it comes to impersonating voices which he does often in this book. The stories are quite intriguing and it is also a history of Hollywood in the late 70's and the decade of the 80's. He can come off as pompous sometimes, but if you are of my generation (almost 50) and like Rob Lowe, you will enjoy this book.
Love it. Rob Lowe is a great storyteller. Enjoyable read. Interesting look at a childhood in Hollywood. He has now made my Top Ten List of Interesting People to Invite to a Dinner Party.
New drinking game. Every time Rob Lowe say "literally," take a shot.

Real page turner. Loved this. Had no idea of all the situations he got himself into in the 80s. The ‘worst of it’ is only really eluded too. I’m just glad he got it all sorted out in the end.
Being a Hollywood actor is basically like living on another planet to the rest of us.
As a parks and rec fan I would have loved a bit more on that.

I'm not much of an autobiography reader (or even non-fiction for that matter) but I really enjoyed this book. It was refreshing to read an autobiography of a celebrity that came from a position of gratitude for the things that happened in their life no matter how badly some of those things might have made them look. It was an interesting glimpse into the beginnings of the 'teen heart throb' phenomenon.

A well-written name dropper. Better than expected, but, as is the right of any memoirist, he skips over his more notorious years. While the book just came out recently, it ends with the West Wing years and does not cover more recent films and television shows.

I listened to this book as an audio book read by Rob Lowe, and I think that was a great way to do it. You really hear his voice telling his own story, which is cool. I don't know if I would've liked this as much if I read it as opposed to listened to it, but I would recommend it if you like autobiographies. He's funny and you get a real perspective on his progression through his career. It also made me start watching the West Wing, which is a great show.
