This was just kind of silly. The plot wasn't great and the writing was worse. I cannot fathom why Mary Higgins Clark has so many fans. This was the first and last book of hers I'll ever read.

Rereading of my favorite mystery author! Not one of my most favorites of her story, but still a good one.

Nell merasa sangat kehilangan atas kematian Adam suaminya dalam sebuah kecelakaan kapal layar. Bersama

This book lacked the usual MHC heart-pounding, page-turning qualities I expect from one of her mystery thrillers, until the final 100 pages. There were a couple of good twists (though I started to suspect them just a bit before the reveal) and the last third of the book really started to build momentum the rest of the book lacked. Even then, I couldn't justify more than two stars for this book, because so much of this book centered on psychic powers, which is something I just can't seem to get into. There haven't been many MHC books that have fallen flat for me, as this one did, so I'm not deterred from reading more. This one, however, was not an example of her better work.

Easy, light read! I wouldn't say it's my favorite MHC, but it definitely keeps you interested.

Quite a disappointment after the heady rush that Mary Higgins Clark's books brought to me. This book of hers, Before I say Good-Bye, is more like Jeffrey Archer rather than the style of prose that Mary herself specialized in. Also Mary's daughter, Carol Higgins Clark, has penned the type of books that caught my attention.

There is a mystery element here. Faint, very faint indeed, but its presence dislocated the ending of the book. The author had planned each day in the life of her characters, meticulously. Each date is chock full of action, of stuff brewing up in the horizon. But taken altogether, the full product is less than the sum of its parts.

The death of a couple of the characters did enliven things, but then the dull words had no respite for me. I had to wade through a lot of fluff to reach the end. I think partially reason of my reaction is that we don't get to know the characters better as time passes by. It's a pity, because the book certainly had potential.

So I didn't realize I had already read this book until I started it. It was lucky then that I didn't actually remember what happened. It all eventually came back to me, the more I read, but it was still an entertaining read the second time around (a little Mary Higgins Clark humor for you there ... Because she has a book called The Second Time Around ... Okay I'm not hat funny).
There's a reason she's called the Queen of Suspense though and this book lives up to her title. It was action packed, suspenseful, with an ending you won't easily guess from the beginning.
It's definitely worth the read and she is one of my favorite mystery writers!

This was a bit of a disappointment. I read a collection of short stories by Mary Higgins Clark a while ago and I liked those, which is why I picked up a novel by her as well. It wasn't badly written, but it wasn't exciting or thrilling either. The blurb was misleading as well. The characters were quite bland. It was a quick read, but also quickly forgotten.
