I'm not big for why choose but I enjoyed the quick novella. I think I craved a little more out of this story in terms of plot because it was longer and did start getting into the backstories of characters. Otherwise, it was fun and once it got to the smut parts it was deliciously spicy.

This was basically a smutty short story, but I liked it nonetheless. I think I want to read more books where the love interest is a shadow. I don’t know why but it’s kind of interesting.

If you want a cozy monster-romance with FMM/MMF/MFM spice, add this to your October list immediately.

Rosemary is a woman close to my own heart - and not just because she's a witch lol. Circumstances out of her control bring her practically begging to her aunt Ophelia's amusement park of sorts, Edgar's Acres. As a witch who doesn't feel welcome among mortals, she's looking for a safe haven as she sorts out her future.

Ophelia hits Rose with a choice she must decide on by Samhain: stick around her ancestral home and learn how to control her talents where she can contribute back to her community, or be booted off without any fanfare or regret back into the world of non-magickal folk. As if making this decision wasn't already hard enough due to reasons from her past, she's also found herself pulled into the orbit of 2 very different males: the sarcastic, super-alpha maroon colored demon, Renwick, and the gentle, considerate and caring shade, Silas. Both monsters bring different traits to the table that Rosie doesn't even realize she needs, but before she can promise anyone anything she will have to decide for herself what path she wants to walk down.

The story is perfect - I would argue a textbook example of the way a novella should go. Development is there, characters are fully fleshed out (IYKYK lol), and the ending is just the best finish for our three MCs. You may think "Cozy fall romance with monsters? Doesn't sound like it would work.." and I'm here to tell you, THIS ONE WORKS.

If you like:
- why choose but make it a group thing, too
- keeping a balance in your personal life between fiery-hot passion and delightfully crisp affection
- stories that embrace change and challenge while still acknowledging it isn't easy
.. you will read this and feel a happy little buzz of autumn-themed contentedness. Among all the dark romances that are out there this spooky season, this will lighten it up while hitting all the boxes for a monster/paranormal romance.

*Thank you to Leigh Miller for a chance to read this advance release!*

I loved the cute nicknames <3
I truly liked the characters, the mmc's and fmc. It was a bit of slow burn for as far as that's possible in a short book but once the gates were open, they were opennnn. And it became a bit too much 'just' spice for me by the end, that's why it's not a 4 stars 🤗

I wasn’t a fan of this quiet as much as Leigh’s other works. However, I still rather enjoyed it. The reason I didn’t like it as much was because it seemed to skip scenes or go by really quickly. I guess I wanted to see more of who they are and what they were up to. It also would have been awesome to get to know more about Rose’s past, it was just brushed over but it truly affect her as a person. I guess I just really wanted more of the book. If you’re looking for a shorter, spicy, fall themed book, this is the perfect option. Especially if you love the why choose and found family tropes.
