what does this girl have against walla walla washington
This book was fine. It wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't memorable either. If you're interested in a murder mystery involving 4 bland white (assumingly, there are no detailed descriptions of the characters other than "middle aged" and "blonde") New York art academics that is predictable and most of the time rather boring, check it out.
You can tell years of intrigue and research went into this story- that much is apparent and perfectly respectable - I just wish that the same effort went into developing more interesting characters with at least some marginalized representation. This development must have been sacrificed in exchange for very lengthy dumps of art history that add nothing to the story, not even insight. You could quite literally skip over paragraphs of text about art history and not miss a single beat. I do feel that Katy had a great story to tell about the hand of fate and its premise is a good one- unfortunately this story never comes to life in the way it was probably intended to.

I really enjoyed this. The Cloisters Museum in NYC was 1 of my favorite places to escape the city. The story twists were not predictable.
