I would have given this a higher rating, except it there was no conclusion. It wasn't just a few unresolved threads to carry into the next book; it just didn't have any resolution at all. It was like the first half of a pilot episode. Characters are introduced, the stakes are laid out...the end.

Thought premise of the four families was interesting - though the Crow's powers weren't actually really addressed. I guess there were lots of hints along the way, I just thought Charlie was just a little bloodthirsty and mafia-ish.
I thought Lydia was a bit mean to Jason - he seemed rather nice and didn't really ask for much.
Fleet sounds like a dreamboat and too good to be true - I have my suspicions.

The concept of 4 mob-style, magical families vying for control of London sounds like a great one. To me anyway. But this was blaaaand.
