I love anything having to do with mythology, and Greek myths are some of my favorites. Therefore, it's kind of hard to believe I'm only just now getting around to this. I loved that it featured Pandora's box, some mention of gods and Titans, and the demons this band of warriors are possessed by after opening Pandora's box. I felt bad for Maddox, who was possessed by Violence and therefore had to stay to himself. Ashlyn was an interesting heroine what with her ability to hear every conversation that ever took place when she went to places. She was a bit too back-and-forth at times, but in the end, she turned out to be pretty great. Same for Maddox. Under all that awful temper was a very protective man who would do anything for Ashlyn. I'm intrigued by the other warriors, Reyes, Torin, and Lucien in particular. I need to know what's up with Anya, too. Overall, this was a solid book with cool world-building and an interesting gang of immortals to follow.
In the beginning I stopped reading a couple times and questioned weather this was a BDB knock off.
The further I got into it, the more independent the story line became. I am going to read the next one in the series and have high hopes.

I got 40% in and the chick still hadn't said why she was there. My god.
I loved this book. Couldn’t stop reading it.
But gave it a 4star bc I like slow-burn romance more, this was too fast for me (I understand the reason tho). But still I loved them both, It was a beautiful romace between Maddox and Ashlyn.
The story is really interesting and I’m excited to read about the other guys.
I’m gonna start the 2nd book after I finished writing this review

<3 she can tell a story like no other author she can captive any reader with the love of these characters share you feel their passion and they reason why they love each so dearly, you feel the anger they have when someone did something wrong
As I'd always been a sucker for demons and the paranormal how could I resist? (tbh I didn't even try). I flew through (no other way to say it) - unfortunately not because it was so good but more because I wanted to get over with it. This might also be one of the reasons why - for the life of me - I can barely remember anything. And I read it like only 2 months ago....I'll start book 6 today and up till now Maddox and Ashlyn are my least favorite couple. As I said I can barely remember the story but I have this picture of Maddox as a Neanderthal in my mind - and Ashlyn as a very weak damsel in distress, who, in the end wasn't that much stronger in my opion. I just couldn't fit those two together.
However, luckily I'm not someone who gives up so easily on anything (specially series with so many books) I'm quite happy I read the second book.

Re-read 2022
On reread I saw that I didn’t review. I can see my draw to this series 11 years ago though some of plot lines I would avoid today. It goes just slightly too much into the start of the other characters stories though doesn’t quite put them into to cliffhanger endings, kind of like BDD but less. I know it took several books before she takes a page out of Ward’s books and starts putting part of the next characters storylines actually in the books, several books away from this, though she peppers little tidbits throughout.
I enjoyed this even on reread almost 10 years later. We don’t meet William yet, who’s book is the last of the main line series, I have two books to go. Ashlyn and Maddox, in this starting book, make a great couple who can help one another. Maddox tries to stay away knowing that it is his demon that is in charge in certain situations and with not knowing if Ashlyn is truly not a threat to the rest of the guys. The main thing that slows down and brings down this book is the world building and the many characters that you meet. It takes time away from our couple but at the same time brings some interesting characters into the fold. I really enjoyed it on reread, would still give it 3.5-3.75 so would bump it to 4.
Read book originally. Enjoyed the story.
Listening to audiobook.
Still enjoy the story. Can't stand the narrator. He sounds like Christian Bale as Batman. He's trying too hard.
