““Who is she, why is she still here and when can I see her naked? Paris asked with an eyebrow wiggle.”

Initial Final Page Thoughts.
Momentary pause of thinking process Oh.. it's over? Flips back a page to double check

High Points.
Naughty bits. Aggression. Violence. Harem of men. Torin, who I adore and can't wait to read about. Ashlyn. Maddox. Naughty bits. Paris. Taming a spirit. Family. Self-sacrifice. Taking what you want. Alpha men as far as the eye can see. Mythology. Naughty bits.

Low Points.
Very sudden conclusion that left me confused (but still satisfied). Hunter/Immortal interaction. Ashlyn needed to be more pissy towards Maddox at points. Would have liked to see more interaction between Maddox and Ashlyn. Wanted more Torin. Craved more Torin. And needed more Torin.

Heroine.
I love the way Ms. Showalter describes Ashlyn, she was honey and her looks matched. Ashlyn had the perfect balance of stubbornness and humility. She worked as a character for me. Although, I'm not sure she's the most memorable of characters.

Love Interest.
“You are mine, woman, and I am yours. Until you, my life was desolate. I existed, but I didn't truly live. Now I live, even in my death.”

Warning! Alpha male aggression, for the win! Maddox was an interesting read and I enjoyed reading about him and Violence. He took what he wanted and that's what I like to see in my book men!

Torin
Oh my lawrd. I have no idea why I fell in love with Torin.. okay.. scratch that.. I totally do know why. I cannot wait to read about him which is going to be hard because I do not believe his book is out yet. I look forward to seeing how Ms. Showalter handles his demon since Torin is obviously the one who suffers most.

Theme Tune.

This song couldn't fit the story any more perfectly in my mind. Hence why I listened to it on repeat while reading this novel:

Justice - Genesis

[Cue Entrance]

Angst Level.
4/10. Sorry Showalter but nothing happened. The only reason this got a four is for Ashlyn's bravery at the end but ever that was sort of predictable. Although, Torin gets an angst lever of 8/10 for his suffering. His past story! *clutches chest*

Recommended For.
People who love investing themselves in series. People who love hearing and falling in love with different characters with the novel. People like aggressive and alpha males. People you like mythology and fairy-tales. People who like taming a man. And people who like lust/love/chemistry at first sight.

This book could have (probably should have!) been written as a novella! The author kept going over the same issues again and again and again. Just page after page of angst and the couple was really awkward together! It was painful trying to read this! It started out so strong and just went downhill from there . I just kept hoping that it would get better but it didn't.

I'm definitely intrigued by these "created warriors" and their demons. Maddox and Ashlyn have that rare love that is fun to read about.

So this was like the Necco wafer of junk food. I wanted something sugary and sweet, but this was what was on hand, and it was fine. Not delicious like a Reese's, but fine enough. I guess.

I must preface this by saying that I only made it to page 200, so i probably shouldn't be reviewing this book. However, the fact that I couldn't really be bothered to make it past page 200 makes this worthy of explaining why.

I picked up this book, first because I got a rec for it and second because the cover art is so darned striking. And I was really stoked by someone doing something a little different within the paranormal genre. I admit, I am always on the look out for paranormal that don't involve vamps.

The idea of these Greek warriors being responsible for the Demons released in Pandora's Box and being punished for it in such a neat way, seemed so fresh and new and interesting.

The problem I had with this book is that the author didn't make even this cool premise seem fresh and new and interesting. So much of the book was set up with a lot of exposition and a trying-too-hard feel to get me interested in the camaraderie/interactions between all these men that live together. I wasn't interested, on the contrary, I was intensely bored. The writing was fraught with romance novel cliches. I finally gave up after one female character had raised her chin for the umpteenth time in two chapters.

Too bad. I wanted to like this but I just don't.

I REALLY wanted to like this. Everybody likes Gena's Underworld series.
Extremely slow read, not near enough meat, pushed myself hard to finish. Ugh.

Holy shit balls!!! Why did I wait so long to start this series. WOW!!!😱 I loved it from the first page to the last page.💖💖💖
