Excellent historical account of pirates! There were a couple slow parts, but overall, I really enjoyed this.

I am glad I chose to listen to this one on audio. I enjoyed the stories and less glorified and more historical depiction of the world's most famous pirates. But it got very slow at times and it would have been a trudge to get through some parts if I had been reading instead of listening to it.

I don't think the book is necessarily bad, I just feel like the book isn't well suited for the audiobook format.
If I ever come across a hard copy of the book, I may take up reading it again. I would like to finish it out because I don't like leaving a book as DNF but I was finding it harder and harder to get through the book and stay interested in what was going on.

Spoilers: the real enemy was capitalism all along.
Seriously, a good, engaging read, and honestly a pretty good pitch for joining a pirate crew.
