I was promised something to scratch the Wotakoi itch and it… takes a REALLY long time to get there. It starts kinda creepy and uncomfortable, and while it does eventually get slice of life romantic-y, the road is still a bit bumpy (and unlike Wotakoi the awkwardness is primarily one sided).

I’ll probably still pick up on more volume before I make up my mind, though.

Actual 3.5 - This was cute! It felt a little long and repetitive in places, but an enjoyable read. Likable characters, unique story and well written. I’m considering continuing on in the series.

i’m just gonna count this volume on here as me reading the entire series (bc i did) but i don’t wanna count all 11 volumes as the 12 books im trying to read lol. ANYWAY, this series is amazing. so refreshing and adorable and relatable. such a rarity to have content display a healthy relationship with fights, disagreements, trauma, communication. it makes me so happy, both characters are insanely lovable and it’s very wholesome but you do go through a journey with these two. from an academic standpoint, highlights the japanese culture in which the workplace takes care of its workers, which was so lovely to read as an american. read it READ IT READ IT

The main character's anxieties and insecurities were written well and the communication of her insecurities within the relationship was done well. The concept is a bit out there but fun. It was too insta-lovey for my taste, and I know that the first chapter was initially a one-shot. But I kind of wish the first chapter was a one time thing and then we could build things back up again, or that emotional feelings would develop fully later rather than sooner. I'm just nit-picky since I don't like insta-love, but their dynamic in the relationship was very cute, him wanting and getting excited to do relationship things like having her leave her toothbrush and other stuff at his house.
funny fast-paced

Odd, but mature and beautiful. A sweet love story, that flows just like many adult relationships do. A little too relatable in parts.
