Heartbreakingly raw - I highly recommend this book. Although it focuses on the Thunder Bay area, 'Seven Fallen Feathers' should urge Canadians to consider the struggles and pains of the First Peoples in their local areas as well as across Canada.

Through simple yet carefully chosen language, 'Seven Fallen Feathers' manages to read easily while remaining one of the most profound and thought-provoking books I have read in a while. Because of this, I believe it fulfills it's purpose of being accessible to readers of all levels in order to spread awareness of racism towards the First Peoples in Canada. I can't stress the book's importance (and recommend it) enough!

I’m disappointed that I didn’t give this book my attention sooner. It is an urgent and well written account of the systemic racism Indigenous peoples face in Canada, while telling the horrifically inconclusive stories of seven children’s’ deaths in Thunder Bay, Ontario. These deaths are inconclusive only in a factual sense. Each has unambiguously come about because of that racism. I feel angered and motivated to learn and understand more. Talaga is a talented writer and storyteller, and this important book should be read by all.
