I probably should've read this when I was younger. It's not bad by any means, but it also moved very slowly. I enjoyed reading about the horses, but I was sad hearing how some were treated. It was also very instructional on how to treat animals, which is great to teach children (and sadly, some adults), but sometimes is hard to get through reading it when you're older. I am glad that I did finally read this though. Read for grad school for Lit & Resources for Children.
this book is amazing, also its really sad and it shows you the cruelty men did to poor horses. i can't believe the horses were really treated badly.
A true classic that all horse lovers must read! Even if you're not a big fan of horses, I think any reader would enjoy Black Beauty's story. In addition, you learn a bit about how to care for horses, and how they were treated years ago.
A great book about a horse. I love that it's written in the point of view of black beauty.
