I was one of "those" girls -- the ones who read any horse book they could get their hands on, and more than once at that. I cannot count the number of times I cried over Black Beauty, and though it's been a long time since I read it, I still think fondly of this story. For any child going through the "horse phase", this book will be a beloved favourite.

Se ve muy bien el trato a los animales, bueno y malo. También todas las preocupaciones y tal del tierno animal. Es que es un amor de caballo. En serio. Y pobrecito.
El final es precioso. En general , todo el libro. Nada sobra. Todo el libro es genial, no quitaría ni un parrafo ni añadiría nada.
Se lee muy facil, aunque hay cosas bastante duras en algunos momentos. No duras de leer, sino de que te las imaginas y sufres. Igualmente, está contado todo de una manera muy dulce, casi parece la visión de un niño.

I remember reading this book some time ago. It being a while since I actually read it I can't remember much about it to give my opinion on - I vaguely remember another ginger horse (which I have a feeling was called Ginger), and I remember the narrating horse spent some time in the service of a cruel London cab driver... But I can't say much on it's good or bad points.

Simple but powerful, melancholy and humane, a melting pot of kindness and tragedy.
Finally regained the determination to read this book, and finished it after nearly two months. The story is as depressing as it is uplifting. Some people are good to animals, but most are not. If you love animals, this book will break your heart several times, and I don't recommend reading it for that reason, even though it's very well written, and a famous children's classic.

A lovely listen, I quite enjoyed the sound effects, they made the book come to life. In some instances they were too loud and the narration was almost drowned out but overall great.
Narrarion was incredible.
I think what I took from this story was firstly I do love horses what incredible creatures and secondly the natural eb and flow of life. There will be highs and lows and you need to stay present because this too shall pass.
