One of the best books I've read in a long time. I didn't want to put it down and was mad when I had too.

Don't Be Afraid...my ass. Be afraid, be very afraid. This book is incredible. It hurts so good. The feels...

I was a blubbering baby. My husband rolled his eyes at me but this book caused "F-Me I Feel Like I'm Dying" ugly cries. I look like Medusa on heroin with my puffy eyes and sniffling to keep the snot in. I am a hot mess of emotions on date night no less. So be afraid, be very afraid. CA Harms ruins date nights and breaks hearts, decimates hope, and stabs happiness in this beautiful, beautiful story.

Did that make sense? Maybe?! Okay here goes:

CA Harms wrote a blurb. The blurb had a lump forming in my throat. I had a feeling my reactions were not going to be tame. Then CA Harms let me read the book that the blurb belongs to (technically, she didn't know it was me. It was through a blog and a release...not important). And that's when my world fell apart!

I'm talking soul shattering intensity. I was a sobbing limp rag, a shell of a person while reading this book. It is so emotional, so raw. It's so damn real it hurts.

Have you ever experienced loss?
Feared the future?
Mourned the past?

If so, this book captures those feelings and magnifies those pains. For those who haven't, it comes pretty darn close to giving you that experience.

I often get tears reading. I even find I have ugly cried a bit. But this made ugly crying look like alligator tears. I was a pathetic mess. I literally sobbed into my shirt trying to muffle my cries. It is intense. It's raw. It's real.

So I say be afraid of your reaction, be afraid you don't have enough tissues, be afraid your dog will cry with you.

Don't Be Afraid to read it. Don't Be Afraid to love it. Don't Be Afraid

It is usually character's struggle in the middle of a book or the ending of a storyline that makes me shed a few tears, but his book took a hold of my heart from the prologue and I had ugly tears throughout most of it. It was like I was stabbed within the first few paragraphs and with each chapter the knife continued to twist. C.A. harm kept the emotions running high as the reader consumed the story of Patrick, Sawyer and Gabe. The letters that the character's received literally killed me. So much hope and love and so much devastation and heartbreak. This book should come with a warning label. Deserves so much more than 5 Stars!!

“Today we’ll blame God, we’ll hate our fate, we’ll yell, cuss, and scream. We’ll be angry and sad. Today we’ll do all that.” I nodded because I could do that. In fact, I already was. “But tomorrow, we live.”

Such powerful words... there were many of these passages in this book. It was full of emotion- love, grief, want, lust, happiness and heartbreak. I was deeply moved by the entire story.

My first read from CA Harms but it definitely will not be my last- you have scored yourself a new fan!

Another well written book by CA Harms, but make sure you keep the tissues close by for this intense journey to HEA.

Tragically beautiful

This is a story of heart break and repair.
Swayers husband is dying. For the first half you go through that turmoil & believe me, you will cry, you will feel the depth of the emotion Ms. Harms is writing. It will gut you. It will make you want to hold on to your own loved ones tighter as you through both Swayer's journey and that of her husband Patrick.
The second half, you go through the guilt and all emotions tied to Swayer loosing Patrick.
Where we get to finally see inside Gages head after he looses his best friend and what its like to fall in love with the one person you promised your best friend you would look after. The way Gage keeps Patrick alive for little Abigail is the absolute sweetest.
Dont let the content put you off, yes its emotional & yes its epically raw but its also beautiful, its bittersweet and heartwarming.
The story of Swayer, Patrick & Gage reminds you that no matter what you can have your happy ending without forgetting how you got there. Patrick made the right choice.

Good book~ Don't Be Afraid tugs at your heartstrings! If you're like me and love a book that will make you cry, then you will definitely want to pick this one up!

Sawyer did not have an easy childhood. So when she met Patrick and they fell in love, she finally felt like she belonged. They had a few wonderful years together, until devastating news hit them. One of Patrick's last requests to his best friend, Gage, was for him to look after his girls. Neither he, nor Sawyer, saw what could become of that request, and they fought it.

I really enjoyed this story. I liked the characters a lot, and really felt the emotions that they were dealing with. I wish there had been a bit more in the second half of the book, just to see the connection stronger between Gage and Sawyer, but overall, Don't Be Afraid was a hit!

5 stars is not enough for this one. Not even close. Fair warning have a huge book of tissues close like right next to you because you will need them. I had a good cry after reading this one. I should say while I was reading this one. I had to stop reading and take a step back from this amazing story line. C.A Harms has blown me away with her writing. But this one she hit it out of the park for me. I absolutely loved this one. It was amazing from the beginning to the end. It was so very well written that you could easily feel every single emotion from Patrick, Gage and Sawyer. There was so many times i wanted to crawl into this book and hug Sawyer. This pulls at your heart strings like rips them apart and then slowly pieces them back together. This is my favorite from her and I so want this for my collection. If i dont buy but one paperback this year it will be this one. I dont just highly recommend this book. I am telling you get your butt on line and get this book. Grab some tissues and a blanket cuddle and have a good cry. Because this story line could happen to anyone at us at any moment. You will thank me later after reading this book.
