Instead of an extended epilogue, what we received was 500 page third installment that was, in a word: SUPERFLUOUS.
While I enjoyed the opportunity for deeper insight into the men of the Raven’s childhood, and formative years, the constant time jumping was frustrating.
After experiencing very little actual romance in the first two books, I would’ve appreciated not having to wait til well over the halfway mark of this story to have that itch scratched. I would’ve liked to experience more chemistry between the main characters.
I’m sure it was a great undertaking and labor of love for the author, which is why I’ve been a little more generous with my rating than I normally would’ve been. Overall, while it was nice to get a glimpse of Tobias’ point of view, this book was a bit of a chore to read.
P.S. f*** Tessa, she can piss right off
Where was Sean?
We wanted more Sean
Did I mention Sean Roberts? Because…Sean

Considering this book wasn't even planned to happen, I'm extremely glad it did. Did I love it? No, but it was WAY better than Exodus. We got a look at Tobias' perspective which I thought helped the relationship I absolutely hated in Exodus. The series had so much potential, but I'm left disappointed after finishing it.
I think Cecilia's character is better in this book, but it takes almost 300 pages to get to see this character change.

Audiobook via Audible.
I love how well these narrators fit the characters. The accents were so good.
This book was… not my favorite. The parts where we learn about Tobias’ past were so needed and I loved learning how he got to where he was.
The main part that had me kinda 🤨 was Cecelia’s takedown. It didn’t make sense seeing as how we had her point of view throughout and she acted so angry with Tobias, but also questioned why he acted the way he did even though APPARENTLY she already knew.
Also, I likely missed it, but when Tobias mentioned Julian/Julien during this scene and all the parts he played I was like “who the hell is Julian?!” And I still have no idea, so clearly he was a small enough character for me to forget.
The ending with Tobias speaking to Dom was gut wrenching. (Still haven’t forgiven you, Kate Stewart.)

This book was so unnecessary. 300 pages too long. I wish this conclusion would have been incorporated in the second book….

I’m not sure why this was written since it felt so unnecessary. It felt very different from the other 2 books and not in a good way. We get Tobias as the other viewpoint and by this point it felt unnecessary. I like having dual POVs for most of it, but adding a 2nd pov by the third book is a weird choice. I also didn’t really get into any romances after the 1st book
